    Tyre size help

I need to change both my rear tyres because they will definitely fail on the MOT with the cracking on them. Currently on are 275 40 r17ís but my local tyre shops donít have any of these in stock and recommend 255ís . I donít know the make of the alloys and Iíll post a picture of them later if anyone would know what they are called as Iíd like to know.

Wanting to know what ideally should be on the car. 93 N/A JDM. Any help or advice from wheel gurus on here would be ace.

    Thanks

Would this be stamped inside the alloy ? Or is it easier just to measure them?

Once you find the wheel stamp you need to then work within the correct width restrictions for that size wheel.

275/40/17 very hard to get I had to go 265/40/17 hankook ventus you should have no prob getting that size, however make sure your wheels are at least 9inch width

Thatís what Iím finding now, yeah they did mention they had some 265ís in stock. Iíll see what mine measure and maybe drop to that if that turns out better for the size of alloy.

275 or 265 hardly anything in difference in fact I think better grip from 265 on the 9.5inch wheel

    Tyre size help

I switched out 19Ē 275/30 for 265/35 and the ride was much much better. Prefer chunkier tyre than thinner tyre look but comfort was improved no doubt

Amazing what increasing the side wall by 10mm, once you don't go to far away from the original diameter.
